The JOBS4ALL project is a project funded under the Erasmus + KA2 program, running from 2 May 2022 to 1 November 2024. The main goal of the project is to facilitate access to the labor market for young people with disabilities. Observations indicate serious gaps in this area. The project is innovative and focuses on digital transformation and modernization of training for young people with disabilities.

So far, it has been possible to develop a tool for mapping the employment scene with companies that employ people with disabilities, as well as any training centers, associations and other entities that support young people as they enter the labor market. Each partner has also discerned and identified gaps and barriers in the employment issue during focus groups.

The JOBS4ALL Consortium has developed training course packages for all the project’s target groups, namely young people with disabilities, youth workers, trainers, teachers and employers.

On December 4 and 5, 2023, MetropolisNet organized the 3rd Transnational Project Meeting in Berlin, Germany, where partners were able to meet again in person. The Competence Framework-Syllabus was discussed and fruitful discussions allowed us to finalize this essential document for our Training Pack. Discussions also covered the training pack, providing a brief presentation of the finalized pack. This provides a timely and comprehensive approach to building a training program. The meeting also developed a storyboard for VR scenarios, promising an innovative and engaging aspect to our project. Updates on the JOBS4ALL interactive platform were shared, highlighting progress and discussions on its features. In terms of infrastructure, the establishment of centers took center stage in strategic planning discussions to ensure the smooth implementation of our project.

During a training meeting held from January 29 to February 2, 2024 in Nicosia at the Emphasys Center premises, we had the opportunity to test the VR Jobs simulation game prepared to support both people with disabilities and their trainers. The use of VR space is an innovative form of training young people with disabilities and is intended to serve them as a tool to prepare to enter the labor market. The scenarios developed by the consortium address the basic skills needed for the selected three positions: catering assistant, warehouse assistant, and hotel service assistant.

Ahead are pilot tests using the interactive JOBS4ALL platform and a VR simulation based on real-life professional scenarios that will facilitate the introduction of young people with disabilities to the labor market.

The main goal of the project is to properly shape the skills and competencies of youth workers, trainers and educators working with young people with disabilities and offer them appropriate techniques to improve the current situation.

The JOBS4ALL project is a needed and important initiative that will help young people with disabilities overcome the challenges they face in accessing the labor market, thus increasing equal access and participation. The JOBS4ALL project is funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program and is implemented by a consortium of partners from five European countries, comprised of Educational centers, non-profit organizations, and research centres that have extensive experience in the field of youth work, namely: NCSR Demokritos (Greece), Emphasys Centre (Cyprus), APPDA Coimbra (Portugal), LCYouth (Cyprus), MetropolisNet (Germany), 2nd EPAL of Agia Paraskevi (Greece) and Zespół Szkół Specjalnych im. Janiny Porazińskiej w Ignacowie (Poland).
