On Friday 31 May 2024, the N.C.S.R. “Demokritos” Team organized a special Info Day to present the progress of the JOBS4ALL Project Results to an audience of approx. 25 teachers of all levels, youth workers and psychologists, occupational therapists, etc.
The event took place at the premises of N.C.S.R. “Demokritos” and all results including the educational materials, the e-learning platform and the VR Game among others were presented.
A fruitful discussion ensued about the importance of such projects, the usefulness of Virtual Reality in modern Youth education and its importance in simulating job environments that help Young People with Disabilities and especially young people with autism and mental disabilities to get accustomed with such job environments through a “safe” environment such as the one a Virtual Reality game can offer. The participants showed a real interest but conceded that the lack of funding for equipment and sometimes the lack of digital skills of teachers and youth workers hinder such efforts and stressed the importance of proper funding schemes so that more youth workers and young people can have the opportunity to experiment with such games.
